It is an awesome privilege and grace to give! We don't give because God needs our money, but because He loves to include us in His own character through the joy of giving. Joy to the world, God is a giver!
We give Tithes because everything we have is the Lord's, so giving the very first portion of what we receive honors and acknowledges His provision and ownership. (Lev.27:30, Ps.24:1)
We give Offerings because He stirs our individual hearts in unique ways to treasure who He is and what He is doing in His Kingdom, instead of becoming absorbed in ourselves and our "kingdoms." (Matt.6:21, 1 Tim.6:17-19)
We give Generous Gifts because of the tremendous joy it is to excel in giving, imitating Christ by pouring out what God puts in our hands to bless. (2Cor.8:7-9)
